Bathabise Biyela, professionally known as Thabsie, is a South African R&B artist who croons about relationships over modern trap soundscapes. Born in Cape Town in 1992, Thabsie started singing in the church as a youngster. In the early 2010s, she grew into a backing vocalist for artists such as Donald, Black Motion, and ProVerb while working as a banker by day (she later left to pursue music full-time). Thabsie’s big moment came when she appeared on hip-hop star Kwesta’s 2016 hit single “Ngiyaz’fela Ngawe,” where she sang earnestly about enduring the ups and down of relationships.
