Scandal'Us were the winners of the second season of the Australian version of the Popstars reality TV competition in 2001. Group members Anna Belperio, Jason Bird, Simon Ditcham, Tamara Jaber, and Daniela Scala lived together while being trained as singers, dancers, and potential media idols for the duration of the show. After spending eight weeks recording their album, its first single, "Me Myself & I," went straight to number one. Their album, Startin' Somethin', made it to number two on the charts and a British tour in support of Hear'Say, who had won the English version of the program, followed. Their star fell as quickly as it rose however, and their second single, "Make Me Crazy," stalled at number 30 as the public began to lose interest in the group. While collecting an award for their first single in 2002, Ditcham and Jaber were asked about their future plans and admitted that the group had already broken up. Ditcham cited trouble with getting out of their restrictive contracts and their inability to find a new label as the causes. Jaber was the only member who signed to another label; she was the first signing of King Kyle Records, which was owned by her fiancée, radio personality Kyle Sandilands. ~ Jody Macgregor
