About Poetic Ammo

A Malaysian hip-hop crew of some recognition, Poetic Ammo was formed by Yogi B. (Yogeswaran Veerasingam) after his collaboration with Anand -- called DEFX -- called it a day. Rounding up members Landslyde, Point Blanc, and C. Loco, Yogi B. started the new crew soon after, and in 1998 the group released its first album, It's a Nice Day to Be Alive. Although the group did most of its lyrical work in English, Poetic Ammo dabbled in Melayu, Tamil, and Cantonese. The World Is Yours, their second album, followed in 2000, and in 2003 Poetic Ammo released Return of the Boombox. With all of the members enjoying success, solo projects came to the fore, and the band went on hiatus as Yogi released solo albums, Blanc started a label, a band, and released a solo album of his own, while Landslyde started a rap-metal band, and C. Loco started an acting career. ~ Chris True
