About Les Nubians
Sisters Helene and Celia Faussart are Les Nubians, an R&B duo that incorporate elements of smooth soul, reggae, hip-hop, and African pop. The Faussart sisters grew up partly in Chad and partly in Paris, and this background is reflected in their diverse, multicultural approach to music. Their full-length debut, PRINCESSES NUBIENNES (1998), was a hit in both Europe and the United States, making Les Nubians one of the most successful French language groups in the U.S. Collaborations with the likes of Talib Kweli and Black Eyed Peas raised their profile, and their sophomore release, ONE STEP FORWARD, appeared in 2003. Les Nubians founded Nubiatik, their own label, on which they released ECHOES, CHAPTER ONE in 2005.
