About Hyper Crush

A dance-pop group with bright shades of new wave, party rap, and EDM, Hyper Crush were formed in 2006 and consist of rapper Donny Fontaine (born Steven Love), singer Holly Valentine (born Angelina Araya), and DJ/keyboardist Preston Moronie (born Patrick Ridge). All three members attended Agoura Hills High School in California. Their debut was the 31-track Mixtape, Vol. 1 (August 2007), which was followed by The Arcade (May 2008), their first proper album. Both titles were self-released. The trio signed with Universal Motown and experienced some obstacles in the way of releasing their second album, so they released Mixtape, Vol. 2 (June 2009) on their own. Their first charting single, "Kick Us Out," was released in late 2010 and reached number six on Billboard's club chart the following year. Despite the commercial success, Hyper Crush left Universal Motown and established the Night Wave label, where they released Night Wave (February 2012) and Vertigo (October 2013). Experienced performers, they toured with Lady Gaga and Far East Movement, among many others, and they have remixed tracks by the likes of LMFAO, La Roux, Katy Perry, and Gotye. ~ Andy Kellman
