About Emily Jane White

Influenced by American blues and folk music tradition along with contemporary female singer/songwriters such as PJ Harvey and Kate Bush, Emily Jane White has been compared to Chan Marshall (Cat Power) and Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star). She collaborated with producer Wainwright Hewlett on her debut album, Dark Undercoat (2007). It was licensed for international release by the Talitres label in 2008 and reached number 143 on the French albums chart. She returned to the French charts with her next two LPs, Victorian American (2009) and Ode to Sentience (2011). After releasing Blood/Lines, her fifth album, They Moved in Shadow All Together (2016), also charted. ~ Jason Birchmeier
