About Dolores Delirio

Peruvian Latin rock band Dolores Delirio was formed in the mid-'90s by guitarist Jeffrey Parra, drummer Josué Vásquez, and singer Ricardo Brenneifen, recording a self-titled demo, followed by Concierto En La Catolica and En El Condorock. In 1995 Dolores Delirio's debut album, called Cero, was released by Navaja Producciones. In 1997 the band recorded the live album Dolores Delirio, issued by Miami-based Barbarosa Music, soon successfully touring around Peru. A year later, Jeffrey Parra passed away. The remaining members decided to honor his contribution to local rock, keeping the group together and issuing Uña y Carne, Las Canciones de Dolores Delirio, a compilation of their best songs. After instrumentalist José Inoñán joined in, the threesome participated in a tribute album to goth rock act the Cure, featuring "Why Can't I Be You," and signed up to Sony Music, recording 2000's Raíz. ~ Drago Bonacich
