About Dennis

Born in Trieste on December 6, 1976, Italian teen pop singer Dennis Fantina became famous in 2001 as the winner of the first edition of the talent TV show Saranno Famosi, the Italian version of American Idol, also taking part in the compilation album of the same title. In summer of 2002, Dennis participated in the Tim Tour traveling show, and was later involved in a commercial campaign for Tim, an Italian mobile phone network. In the same year he released his first album, simply titled Dennis. The record, produced by Celso Valli, included the singles "Non è il Cuore" and "Hey (Tienimi Forte)" and featured guests such as Elisa and Mango. Then, in 2003 Dennis toured Italy as the leading character in Compagnia della Rancia's adaptation of the musical Grease, and in 2004 he could be heard on radio (Funky e Duck in Radio) and seen on television (Insieme a Dennis) via the Radio/Video Italia network. Summer 2005 saw the release of Dennis' sophomore album, Io Credo in Te, co-produced by Fio Zanotti and Massimo Luca, with Gatto Panceri and Pooh's Red Canzian as guests. Thanks to the singles "Non Basti Tu" and "Grazie (A Te)," the record sold more than 40,000 copies and achieved gold record status. In 2005 Dennis took part in the TV contest Notti Sul Ghiaccio, finishing second. In spring of 2007 Dennis released his third record, Buone Sensazioni, preceded by the single "Come Bambi." ~ Aurelio Pasini
