About Cris Braun

Born in Rio Grande do Sul, Cris Braun moved to Maceió in the '70s where she learned to play the guitar and had singing lessons. Having also practiced percussion, keyboards, and composition, Braun started to do shows in 1985, when she performed at the Mistura Fina nightclub (Rio de Janeiro). Five years later, she was invited to join the Sex Beatles as a singer. As a composer, Braun has been writing songs together with Alvin L. and Paula Toller. Her composition "Como É Que Eu Vou Embora?" (with George Israel and Paula Toller) went to the Top Ten in 1997 in Kid Abelha's rendition. "Menos Carnaval" (with Alvin L.) was recorded by Belô Velloso. Her debut album, Cuidado Com Pessoas Como Eu, was released by Marina Lima's label Fullgás, by invitation of the latter. In 1998, Braun participated in the Rádio JB FM project Novo Canto. In the next year, she appeared in the Songbook Chico Buarque interpreting "A Voz do Dono e O Dono da Voz" (Chico Buarque). ~ Alvaro Neder
