When Bunkface released their 2007 debut EP Lesson of the Season, it yielded a hit track, “Silly Lily”, that landed at number one on numerous radio shows for several weeks. The punk rockers from Klang with a name inspired by US band Sum 41’s “Crazy Amanda Bunkface” have since scaled peak after musical peak. Fronted by wildly charismatic lead singer and rhythm guitarist Sam (Shamsul Anuar) and flanked by bassist Youk (Farouk Jaafar) and lead guitarist Paan (Ahmad Farhan), the band unleash three-chord mosh-pit anthems with boundless energy that turn heads and careen like a juggernaut through rock festivals. Years removed from their breakthrough, each new Bunkface record remains feverishly anticipated by fans.
