Some artists simmer a while longer than others before eventually causing a stir. After an early exit on reality show Akademi Fantasia in 2011, it took Malacca-born Ayda Jebat three years before her acting breakthrough on Rindu Awak 200%, followed by the game-changing dangdut pop single “Pencuri Hati” that scooped Most Popular Song at the regional Anugerah Planet Muzik awards in 2016. While Jebat may spend more time on film sets now, it hasn’t stopped this firecracker and influencer from releasing chart-topping hits over the years, including “Mata”, “Temberang” and “Mana Ada Hati”.
