About Antithesis

Formed in 1997 by Ty Cook (vocals), Sean Perry (guitar/vocals), Paul Konjicija (guitar), James Lewis (bass), and Paul Kostyack (drums), Cleveland's Antithesis mixes elements of progressive and power metal without going overboard into either category. In other words, although technically complex and extremely melodic, neither of the band's two albums thus far, 2000's Antithesis (featuring temporary guitarist Tom Guignette) and 2001's Dying for Life were given to instrumental overindulgence or cheesy metal anthems. Rumors of the band's possible Christian affiliations -- hinted at by their occasionally spiritual lyrics -- remain unconfirmed. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
