About The Clang Group

Before forming the Clang Group in 2014, Clive Langer already had a long and impressive career in music. Starting off in the early '70s as a guitarist in the art rock cabaret band Deaf School, and then in the legendary Liverpudlian punk band Big in Vegas, Langer transitioned to a successful producer when he discovered the band Madness in the late '70s. He formed the Clang Group with drummer Gregg Braden, Roxy Music's Andy Mackay on sax, Malcolm Lunan on bass, and keyboardist John Wood. The band signed to Domino Records and in February of 2015, released a self-titled four-song EP. Their debut album, Practice, was released late in 2016 by Domino and featured a guest vocal by Langer's longtime mate Suggs of Madness. ~ Tim Sendra
