About Lainey Wilson

Country singer-songwriter Lainey Wilson learned guitar at age 11, and she earned money during high school by playing children’s birthday parties as a Hannah Montana impersonator. ∙ While struggling to make it in Nashville, Wilson cowrote “Sheriff You Want To” with rising country star Luke Combs, who recorded it in 2016. ∙ Tougher, her 2016 debut, reached No. 44 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. ∙ Kasey Tyndall’s rowdy 2017 single “Bar That’s Open” was cowritten by Wilson and country star Ashley McBryde. ∙ CMT named her as part of their Next Women of Country class of 2019. ∙ Wilson’s 2019 EP, Redneck Hollywood, was helmed by award-winning producer and songwriter Jay Joyce (Eric Church, Little Big Town, Zac Brown Band). ∙ In 2020, she collaborated with the country duo Muscadine Bloodline on “Pieces,” from their EP Turn Back Time.
