New Gen represent the breadth of London's urban music scene by including touches of grime, hip-hop, dancehall, and R&B. The collective was founded by Caroline Simionescu-Marin -- A&R at XL and editor at GRM Daily -- as a collaborative space for like-minded musicians. By 2015 they were performing at showcases across London, eventually securing a regular broadcast on Radar Radio. Two years on and New Gen had put together their first compilation. The production was overseen by MC Renz, who recruited Jevon, Nyge, and Soul. Featuring over 22 artists, MCs, and collaborators, the compilation was framed like a snapshot of the 2016/2017 U.K. urban scene. ~ Liam Martin
