About Flight Facilities

Australian electronic music duo Flight Facilities pepper their dance music with elements of folk, blues, and even classical. • Hugo Gruzman and James Lyell formed Flight Facilities in Sydney in 2009. Gruzman was working as a pizza delivery guy, while Lyell was a barista. • The duo’s 2012 debut single, “Crave You,” featuring vocals from cowriter Giselle Rosselli, earned heavy airplay on Australia’s Triple J radio. It’s also racked up tens of millions of streams. • A “Crave You” remix by the Montreal duo Adventure Club also became a massive streaming hit. • Their 2012 single “Clair De Lune,” which reinterprets a century-old Claude Debussy movement, went Top 40 in Australia. • The duo’s 2014 debut full-length, Down to Earth, reached No. 3 on the Australian charts and was nominated for Album of the Year at the ARIA Music Awards. • In late 2015, Flight Facilities performed selections from Down to Earth with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and released the concert as a live album. The LP—Live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra—won Best Classical Album at the ARIA Music Awards.
