About Joe Diffie

Joe Diffie is a singer, songwriter, and musician who first rose to prominence in the ’90s with his traditional country sound. ∙ “Home,” his 1990 debut single, reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, and it remained on the list for 20 weeks. ∙ Diffie was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 1993 and the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in 2002. ∙ Four of his albums earned RIAA certifications, including 1993’s Honky Tonk Attitude and 1994’s Third Rock from the Sun, which both went Platinum in under a year. ∙ His Top 5 country hit, “John Deere Green,” was his first to reach the Hot 100, peaking at No. 69 in 1994. ∙ Nominated for two Grammy Awards, Diffie won Best Country Collaboration With Vocals honors for his feature on “Same Old Train” in 1998. ∙ Legendary country star Jason Aldean honored him in his 2012 Top 10 country hit “1994,” referencing Diffie and his songs by name. ∙ Following his death in 2020, he ranked among Billboard’s Artist 100 Chart, and posthumously earned his highest entry on the Billboard 200 with 16 Biggest Hits.
