About School of Seven Bells

Secret Machines' Benjamin Curtis and sisters Alejandra and Claudia Deheza from On!Air!Library! were on tour together with Interpol when they discovered mutual musical and mystical bonds, partially inspired by a PBS program about the '80s South American pickpocket school that would give them their name. The spark was bright enough to convince the three to quit their bands and focus full-time on creating the swirling, beguiling, otherworldly neo-psych that would become their trademark. A full-length on Ghostly International, ALPINISMS, followed singles released on labels like Sonic Cathedral and Suicide Squeeze, and a collaboration with Prefuse 73 called "Class of 73 Bells."
