About The Prototypes

British drum'n'bass duo the Prototypes rose from the underground to become a staple in the British rave scene. They are responsible for countless remixes for artists such as Modestep, Ed Sheeran, AlunaGeorge, Donae'o, and Pendulum. Chris Garvey and Nick White grew up in Brighton, where they had both separately been a part of the underground rave scene. They joined forces in 2007, to remix Hadouken!'s "Bad Signal" for Ice Records, but it wasn't until 2010 that they would release their first original tracks together, which were "Work It," "Cascade," and "Need the Love." They signed to Shogun Audio in 2011, releasing three EPs with them, Born to Rise and Suffocate/Habituation in 2011, and Rage Within/Insomniac in 2013. The following year they switched labels, signing to Viper Recordings and releasing an EP, 2014's Don't Let Me Go, soon after. Their debut full-length, City of Gold, arrived in 2015, featuring vocals from Ayah Marar and Amy Pearson. Taking a short break from putting out new music, the duo launched a label in 2016, Get Hype Records. They returned in 2020 with their second full-length, Ten Thousand Feet & Rising. ~ Liam Martin
