In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The first time I got on stage to sing was in kindergarten. When my turn was up, I stood there silent. All I remember is my dad’s ear to ear grin in anticipation. It horrified me and I went out of body. It took me years to get on a stage after that. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Billy Joel, The Stranger (Remastered) Bob Dylan, Nashville Skyline Miles Davis, Kind of Blue Kind of Blue. The sound of my resting mind. I put it on because I don’t even hear it. Nashville Skyline. ❤️ the imperfections. Effortless. A moment caught in time. The Stranger. I’m a sucker for nostalgia. Most new music feels nostalgic in some way. Tell us why you chose this song. “Gravity” The other day Gravity came on when my kids were playing “Nico Vega” The gist is that things will always try to weigh you down here on earth because there is Gravity. But you are an eternal source of light, so nothing heavy can actually kill you. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Meeting Deborah Harry on the Blondie tour and realizing how she still marches to the beat of her own drum. Made me feel inspired to be an artist for the rest of my life and never limit myself with nonsense about age or ability or even relevance.
