About Flying Saucer Attack
Bristol, England's Flying Saucer Attack (originally the duo of David Pearce and Rachel Brook, later a solo venture of Pearce) released several records of gorgeous, pastoral psych during the 1990s. A fiercely lo-fi, D.I.Y. act -- an approach one would think limiting for a band covering such sonic terrain -- FSA blended cascades of warm, droney noise with elements of English folk, shoegaze, Krautrock, and drum'n'bass to create a strikingly beautiful minimalist pop hum. Decidedly anti-digital, Flying Saucer Attack self-released many of its finest recordings as limited-edition vinyl-only 7"s, a lovely illustration of punk ideals being applied to un-punk sounds. ~ Rovi Staff
