About Joyce
In 1967, 19-year-old Brazilian singer, songwriter, and guitarist Joyce changed the face of Brazilian music when her song "Me Disseram" caused controversy as the first song by a Brazilian woman to reflect the first-person feminine perspective. In 1980, she released the classic Feminina, which influenced several generations of women artists. Moreno has issued more than dozens of albums and penned over 400 original songs; many have been covered. She has collaborated with Brazilian music royalty including Dori Caymmi and Vinicius de Moraes. Later outings, including Hard Bossa, Just a Little Bit Crazy, and Samba-Jazz & Outras Bossas (with husband Tutty Moreno) became staples of Euro club culture. Since 2009's Aquarius with pianist João Donato, she has performed as "Joyce Moreno." In 2020, she released 50, and in 2022, Natureza appeared -- an unissued 1977 collaboration with Claus Ogerman and an all-star band and orchestra.
