About The Commotions

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. We will always remember the first performance of the band in 2013. It was at a festival in our hometown and the feeling we had playing music that we wrote and arranged for an audience will always remain close to our hearts. We haven't stopped since. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Chicago, Chicago 19 Huey Lewis and the News, Huey Lewis and the News (Remastered) Tower of Power, Tower of Power The sound and power of that mighty horn section have been a huge inspiration for The Commotions. These bands have been an institution of Soul and Funk for decades and the way the writers incorporate those funk/soul grooves and rhythms is flawless. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Believe In Yourself” This song is my anthem. I wrote this song back in 2016 when I was feeling defeated and I wasn't sure if I could even write our next record. After writing this song it gave me the strength to believe in myself which led to our Volume II release. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the most memorable moments in our career has been listening to our music on some of our favourite TV shows. As an artist, you need to expand your sound beyond the stage and we are very fortunate to have found success in placing our music on TV Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? We would love the opportunity to bring our sound to audiences across Canada and the United States. Our motto has always been 'go big or go home' so Jimmy Fallon we are free to perform anytime :)
