About LUCIFER

Formed in 2014 after the dissolution of Berlin-based vocalist and songwriter Johanna Sadonis' previous band the Oath (an occult-themed doom/punk/hard rock project with Swedish guitarist Linnéa Olsson), Lucifer continues to explore the German siren's fascination with the dark side, but with a proto-metal and blues-rock twist. Drawing inspiration from classic rock bands like Blue Öyster Cult, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and Led Zeppelin, the band released their debut long-player, Lucifer I, in 2015. After relocating to Stockholm, Sweden, the band began work on its sophomore effort, Lucifer II, which arrived in July 2018 and charted in five countries. Two years later, the group issued Lucifer III, which earned a nomination for Best Hard Rock/Metal at the 2021 Grammis awards in Sweden. Showing no signs of slowing down, they released the acclaimed Lucifer IV later that October. ~ James Christopher Monger
