Walk, Don't Run, Vol. 2

Walk, Don't Run, Vol. 2

Without a doubt the most famous instrumental rock band of all time, The Ventures formed in the late '50s in Washington state and were hugely influential to multiple generations of artists. They've released well over a hundred albums and continue to perform and record (in various lineups) to this day. Best known for the hit singles "Walk, Don't Run" and "Hawaii Five-O," they dominated the charts throughout the '60s, practically invented surf music, and helped introduce various electronic effects into the mainstream. With a winning mix of popular covers and freaky original compositions, The Ventures' unique sound struck a chord with listeners of all stripes and inspired many to pick up guitars themselves. They also released several instructional albums and dozens of compilations, have been featured on countless movie soundtracks, and remain immensely popular in Japan. This collection was first released in 1964 and features standouts like "Walk, Don't Run '64," "Rap City," "Diamond Head," "The Creeper," and "House of the Rising Sun." These 12 songs are guaranteed to transform any gathering into a swinging soiree.
