Scarcely two months after dropping the genre-agnostic MOR, No Le Temas a La Oscuridad, the Colombian star returns with a 10-track effort that puts him firmly within a reggaetón context. His demonstrated familiarity with the sound shines throughout FERXXOCALIPSIS, including on songs that seek to stretch beyond the style’s established comfort zones. To that end, he sounds perfectly at home on “ESQUIRLA” and the melodic “LUNA” with hip-hop producer ATL Jacob. He taps in with Medellín rappers Mañas Ru-fino and Pirlo on “LA VUELTA” and “CUAL ES ESA,” respectively. Still, none of it deviates too far from the irresistible closer “CLASSY 101,” his massive 2023 hit with Young Miko which might very well be the model for everything else on the project.
