Lock Off - EP

Lock Off - EP

The second in a series of three EPs that Mark Pritchard released after deciding to drop his myriad monikers, Lock Off shares some similar ground with Ghosts in the incorporation of quintessential jungle sounds and patterns. Yet Pritchard's nearly incomparable drum sequencing and management of aural space showcases the range of styles possible when drawing from similar roots. "1234" rides a stomping shuffled break over stabbing chords, but "Lock Off" starts out riding a minimal, resonant drum loop before topping it with emphatic amens. "Soundboy F**k Off" is classic rave material through and through—just a shining, cleanly produced version of it.
