The sixth album of Mumbai-raised, Auckland-based blues-rock guitarist/composer Warren Mendonsa aka Blackstratblues is his most introspective yet. Considering that his last LP, 2019’s When It’s Time, was a musical autobiography of sorts, that says a lot. He has described Hindsight Is 2020 as “a diary of my experiences over the last strange, strange year, which seems to never end”. The result is a collection of relevant instrumentals that are both melancholic and hopeful, each delivered with BSB’s singular mastery of melody, style and tone.
