BAHÍA DUCATI

BAHÍA DUCATI

Though Puerto Rican superstars like Daddy Yankee and Don Omar made reggaetón a global phenomenon in the early 2000s, Boricua slang and flows have remained a genre standard regardless of country of origin. That didn't sit right with Colombian reggaetón sensation Feid, who in 2020 doubled down on the colorful vocabulary and drawling cadence of his native Medellín for the viral smash “PORFA.” The song was a standout from his lo-fi-inspired LP, FERXXO (VOL 1: M.O.R, and featured Puerto Rican singer Justin Quiles. But as the perreo snowball grew, Feid spotted an opportunity to bridge reggaetón's ancestral capitals of Puerto Rico and Panama, with Colombia's new-school hit factory. He tapped into the vast network of friends and collaborators accrued during his days writing hits for peers, assembling reggaetón titans J Balvin, Nicky Jam, Maluma, and Sech for the “PORFA (Remix).” The revamp raced up the charts, in the process becoming the first taste of Feid's forthcoming mixtape, BAHÍA DUCATI.
