The Nation's Favourite Carols

The Nation's Favourite Carols

Here’s a recording that does exactly what it says on the tin. Hilary Davan Wetton conducts the City of London Choir and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in 22 tried-and-true Christmas classics. “In the Bleak Midwinter” appears twice, with settings by Harold Darke and Gutsav Holst—the former version in the deluxe company of Bryn Terfel. Grace Davidson is the classy soprano soloist, while Welsh tenor Trystan Griffiths adds some operatic ping to “O Holy Night.”
