Opener “The Journey” may feature Joseph Junior Adenuga rapping from the womb, but he arrives fully formed as an MC on this energizing debut. Measured and witty, he spins smart metaphors touching on everything from EastEnders to the hierarchy of U.K. pizza restaurants. Adenuga originally emerged as a beat-maker though, and his adrenalizing production cuts grime with drum 'n' bass (“In a Corner”) and U.K. garage (“Doin’ It Again”) before shifting down to the more soulful rhythms of “Blood, Sweat and Tears.”
