

While 2014’s The Long Way fashioned the raw pain of a break-up into The Coronas’ most aggressively stadium-shaped take on rock to date, the band reflect on love and life with a more understated, spacious sound on this follow-up. Opener “We Couldn’t Fake It” sets the tone with its bittersweet swirl of muted electronics and gently reverberating guitars, while the elegantly choppy “Gut Feeling” and slow-burning “Look at All the Lovers” prove that dialing back the bombast needn’t mean sacrificing instant, unforgettable melodies.
