After hearing a few songs reinvented on the GRAMMY®-winning Both Sides Now, Joni Mitchell again teamed up with conductor/arranger Vince Mendoza to re-explore her entire catalog with a fearlessness that few (if any) other modern performers dare. Obviously, her early songs have changed from songs of innocence to experience, but nothing suppresses the shock when hearing the voice that greets us for “The Last Time I Saw Richard,” originally from 1970’s Blue. Deeper, wiser, and not about to get sucked up in the drama that once was, Mitchell redoes her catalog from start (“The Circle Game”) to end (“Borderline”).
